Twyford Home Improvement Group

Helping Twyford in 2011, a group of Twyford Businesses well-known for their excellent products and services formed the Twyford Village Home Improvement Group.

Their mission is to work together to give their customers the best quality and value for money on all home improvement and maintenance projects, and to work with the Twyford Village Partnership to make Twyford an even better place to live.

Helping our clients in 2010

We took on all sorts of projects in 2010, with lots of customer praise, such as: “The local trades people are so helpful.” said Michael (82), a retired builder himself.

“They are very reasonably priced, they come on time and we would recommend them to everyone in the village.”

Twyford Lighting’s client Mr B says “We will never shop anywhere else when we want lighting.”

The Tile & Bathroom Place’s clients Terry & Bobbie Giles say “A super job from inception to completion. It was a delight to have your craftsmen in the house.”

Terri Jones’s client Ali Oliver (Chair of Colleton Primary School PTA) says “…how very pleased we all were with the wonderful marine mural that you produced for our school pool. Fantastic!”

Gerry Jones’s client Julia Wilkinson: “I can trust him to do a job properly. If you have a plumbing job that needs doing, large or small then I have no hesitation in recommending him.”

Julia was so pleased with the Twyford Home Improvement Group she then had Twyford Windows replace all her windows and doors and again was delighted with the outcome.

Ackers Clayton & Reeve’s client Mr & Mrs Barrett: “They gave us so much help and support. We would not hesitate recommending Ackers Clayton Reeve Solicitors to anyone.”

Mullie’s client Gemma Swan says “Mullie helped me through every stage of the selling process, providing a very efficient service

Helping the community in 2010

We raised £650 for The Age Concern Day Centre in Twyford with two fundraising events:

Kevin Brown of Twyford Windows held a Spanish-themed lunch in the village centre on August 20/21.

Heather Mailley from Twyford Lighting organised a quiz night at the Duke of Wellington on October 28.

In November, along with Bridge House, Interserve, Hare Hatch Sheeplands and Action Carpet Services the Group completed a makeover of the Age Concern Day Centre in Twyford - saving the centre over £4000.

In December the Group was also there to help with the Christmas lunches. Penny Feathers, chair of the Centre’s trustees said “We had a 30% cut in our funding this year and wouldn't have been able to do this work ourselves. We're so lucky we can rely on our local businesses to pitch in and help out in these times of need.”

Plans for helping the community in 2011

We will work with other local businesses to build a new garden at the Age Concern Day Centre which will benefit visitors and Twyford residents in Polehampton Close. We’ll be supporting another Treasure Hunt in the summer for local school children, and art and music entertainment for all ages on the May bank holidays.

If you have any home improvement or maintenance projects you need help with in 2011, call us now! You will be helping to support local businesses and their efforts for your community, while we help you with your home improvements and maintenance.
